I use this

Monday, July 10th, 2006

Instead of doing some sort of yearly top ten or random post on OS X software i like i can now simply point you to my profile on iUseThis. It’s not complete yet as not everything i use is in the iUseThis database but i’m adding the last few myself. My complete profile should make a nice starter list for Mac switchers as would the other profiles on the site. Nice concept overall and usefull already.

Simple photo editor for Macs

Seashore Icon
Seashore is like good old paint shop pro for macs. It’s not photoshop by a long shot but i don’t think it aims to be and for some simple photo resizing, cropping and a bit of retouching it actually does a great job. Especially considering it’s open source and only at version 0.1.8 at the time of this writing. Word of warning; the website looks a bit off-putting but at least the icon is rather charming.

 Macosx Bootcamp Images Systemmanager20060405

How networking should work

Monday, January 30th, 2006

Hamachi looks to be a very promising step towards zero config networking. Appearently you can share itunes through this, play lan games or any other task you might use a VPN for. I’m having a buit of trouble with the mac osx version but the windows and linux versions work fine already and a mac version with a GUI is expected to be out soon.

Firefox market share in Europe

Equipement13 1
Since i still meet people that think Firefox only has a market share of a few percents i give thee this handy chart of the browsers market share per european country: XiTi - Etude Xiti Monitor

The netherlands has a shameful 10% but some european countries almost get to 40%! (even i didn’t think it was going that well for the little browser that could).

Still not using Firefox? Get it here.
