What Mori found, consistently, was that these graphs do not obey a simple linear trend, where the more the robotic system in question resembles a person, the better the observer feels about it. Instead, there’s a moment just short of perfect mimesis where y values plunge suddenly into the negative. He called this region the “Uncanny Valley.”
