Excuse me for my little anti USA rant, I have been there quite a few times and loved most of it. I guess I got a little worked up about this thing. Since then I have been on a two day sailing trip which has totally cleared my head of any stressful impulse it might have harbored. And I am baked to a crisp, which is fun… because now I look like a lobster. Gotta get back to work now, bye.

Speaking on the House floor, Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Florida, said the threat to the environment has been overstated, noting that the drilling would take place on only a fraction of the refuge, which is the size of South Carolina.
The area in question, he said, is not an “ecological wonderland,” but a “frozen desert with few signs of life.”

This sort of stupidity continues to amaze me. How Americans can pass bills like this to ‘protect the energy supply of the USA’ while their country produces half of the earths pollution with a population that makes up only a small percentage of the worlds population is beyond me.
At the current rate of isolationism that the US is exhibiting they will have turned into a retarded backwater again in no-time. Idiots the likes of Cliff would not be allowed entrance to Government premises in most countries, let alone run the country. We can only hope the senate stops this final insult to the thinking part of the world from ever moving out of the smelly pool of muck called the whitehouse.
If it does pass the senate I vow to never set foot in the US again.

Cool, the Dutch government and its municipalities have suspended orders for new Microsoft software in response to Microsofts recent change of licensing strategy. They are looking for international support on this and hope other governments will follow suit. A European tender for replacement office software has since been opened to companies including Microsoft. They are looking at Staroffice and the likes. I hope this works out…

This site tries to debunk Gibson. And after reading a few of the articles I guess they have a point. Gibson by the way is the author of a very well read site and newsletter on internet security who recently gained a lot of attention by describing his dealings with a denial of service attack. Although he may be a fake he writes very engagingly.
