Next week I’m going to try and find out exactly how I can build a simple cross-browser layer scrolling script using the clip and top css attributes and some javascript. In short a layer and two buttons with which you can scroll the text in it up or down. I have used one before on the webstrijd site but it used a big fat library which kills NS if you let it run too long. If you know how to do this properly mail me.
hmm, I blog too little. My only excuse is that I work too much… I did go to a party though but that’s already three days ago. A friend of mine had a housewarming party for which he invited 80 people. And for some reason even more people showed up which is quite rare in Amsterdam. But what I’m getting to is that Joris (who gave the party) is going to Singapore to study Information and Communications Management. And he still needs some sponsers to finance the trip and a site he is setting up to help future Exchange students find their way around. So if you’re rich, go to mentalsaurus.com.

Grrr! Damn the public transport! When I arrived at my work this morning I was more than an hour late because there wasn’t an single train going from Haarlem to Amsterdam. The NS was shuttle-ing everybody with busses but didn’t tell where and when the bus left and which bus went where. so there I stood at the station with hundreds of people running about and no clue which bus to take.
After an 15 minute search I found the bus and it was stuffed. Ok. the next bus was also almost full but luckily(?) I found a standing place next to an control freak, who found it necessary to the the bus-driver how to drive.
Anyway I’m at my work now and lets hope the rest of the day will be better…
And in case you didn’t already notice; Tijs.org has a officially gained a new poster who is incidently also called Thijs (yes with a “h” this time). He will be posting under the name of TR (or ysblokje). And since he has gained a reputation as a fervent spammer in the time he joined NQFF (no offense TR) he will probably be a productive addition to the team.
I will soon be starting a sub page of the startkabel network. The splinter group of people who left the very well visited startpagina.nl. I will be building a page with web developer links. And since startkabel.nl is also pretty well visited maybe someone will actually be reading this stuff soon.
I went to a nice party called randomfriday past friday, to drink free beer basically. And although I was expecting the worst (something like firstteusday) it was actually all very nice and friendly. Most of the people there were from either ICATT or DDS and while that isn’t a very good cross section of the dutch internet population they did stay until the taps closed. And I saw Corrie, the “famous” Amsterdam web cam star, in the flesh. yippie, I guess…
